Valérie Nguyen Dang

About

Meet Valérie, a passionate baker in Lausanne who has been baking 2013. Originally from the French part of Switzerland with Vietnamese roots, Valérie studied business and marketing at the University of St. Gallen.

In November 2019, she won first place in the amateur pastry competition “Cook’n’show” in Geneva, participating as a duo.

In 2021, she launched her Instagram page BakedByVal to share her creations and her passion for new recipes.

Alongside her love for pastry, Valérie works full-time at Nespresso as a coffee product manager. Her marketing experience, enriched by international exposure, influences her professional and culinary approach.

Since early 2024, she has been organizing monthly bento cake workshops to share her passion

In November 2024, Valérie decides to leave the corporate world to open her own café, FLAVOURS, where you can enjoy specialty coffee locally roasted in Etoy by Shirin, an expert in the field.

Coffee holds a special place for Valérie, who has also completed a CAS in coffee expertise at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW).

At FLAVOURS, several workshop formats will be offered for different events. These will provide a great opportunity to enjoy and learn more about pastry. FLAVOURS will thus be a wonderful combination of coffee and pastries, a warm place where every visit will be a true culinary experience!
